Ekin Saydam, DDS

Ekin Saydam, DDS is a dentist in the Dental & Oral Health unit at Acibadem Kartal Hospital in İstanbul. Dr. Saydam graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 2015 and, in 2025, entered the Pediatric Dentistry Doctoral Program at Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry. Her early career included positions as a dentist at Private Ankadent in Ankara (2015), Private Dentalank Oral and Dental Health Clinic in Ankara (2016), Dentdizayn Oral and Dental Health Clinics in İstanbul (2017–2020), Private Çekmeköy Medical Center in İstanbul (2018) and Dentapolitan Oral and Dental Health Center in Bostancı, İstanbul (2020). She subsequently worked as a pediatric dentist at Private Ümran Medical Center Department of Dentistry in İstanbul (2020–2023), Private Dentistanbu! Dental Hospital in Beşiktaş, İstanbul (2023–2024) and Medicana Ataşehir Hospital, Department of Dentistry, İstanbul (2024), before joining Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2025. She is a member of the Türk Pedodonti Association and The International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD).

Clinical focus

Dr. Saydam’s practice focuses on the dental needs of children, from preventive measures to the treatment of established disease and injury. Preventive care includes fluoride application and fissure sealants, which are used to help protect teeth against decay. Where decay is already present, she provides dental fillings and, when the pulp of the tooth is affected, root canal treatment for both primary (baby) teeth and permanent teeth. She also treats tooth root infections and carries out tooth extractions when a tooth cannot be preserved.

Her areas of expertise further include the placement of space maintainers after the early loss of a primary tooth, the treatment of dental trauma in children, and aesthetic pediatric dentistry. For children who are unable to tolerate treatment in the dental chair, Dr. Saydam provides dental treatment under general anesthesia when this is indicated. Treatment planning is individual, and the suitability of any approach is assessed after clinical examination and review of the child’s dental history and imaging.

How Dr. Saydam works with international patients

Dr. Saydam consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as dental X-rays, previous treatment records and any relevant medical reports, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous dental treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is available for international patients who would like an initial discussion of their child’s case before traveling.
