Prof. Dr. Engin Kaya

Prof. Dr. Engin Kaya is a urology specialist at Acibadem Taksim Hospital in İstanbul, where he practices within the Urology unit. His subspecialty interests include andrology (male reproductive health), the treatment of sexual dysfunction, the diagnosis and treatment of prostate diseases, robotic surgery, and the treatment of urethral diseases. He has more than 22 years of experience in medicine, and his clinical work covers both general urological conditions and urological cancers.

Dr. Kaya graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 2004 and completed his specialty training in urology at Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 2012. He holds the academic title of professor. He has been part of Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2026.

Clinical focus

A significant part of Dr. Kaya’s practice is uro-oncology. He evaluates and treats patients with kidney cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Where surgery is indicated, his practice includes robotic surgery, and the choice of approach is discussed with each patient in light of the diagnosis and the patient’s individual situation. Dr. Kaya also manages prostate diseases more broadly, as well as kidney diseases, hydronephrosis (swelling of a kidney due to a build-up of urine) and hematuria (blood in the urine), a finding that generally requires investigation to identify its cause.

In andrology, Dr. Kaya sees men with concerns related to male infertility and sexual dysfunction, and he treats diseases of the urethra. Diagnostic procedures in his practice include cystoscopy, an endoscopic examination of the bladder and urethra that may be used in the assessment of hematuria, bladder tumors and urethral conditions. In each case, the evaluation and treatment plan are tailored to the patient’s diagnosis and treatment needs, and the possible benefits and limitations of each option are explained before a decision is made.

How Dr. Kaya works with international patients

Dr. Kaya consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options.
