Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Şimşek

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Şimşek is an anesthesiologist in the Anesthesiology & Reanimation unit at Acibadem Kartal Hospital in İstanbul. His clinical work covers anesthesiology and reanimation, regional anesthesia, preoperative assessment and perioperative care, supporting patients before, during and after surgical procedures. He has more than 20 years in medicine and joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2026.

Dr. Şimşek graduated from the Gülhane Military Medical Academy Faculty of Medicine in 2006. He completed his residency in the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Gülhane Military Medical Academy between 2009 and 2013. He then worked as a specialist physician at Ardahan Military Hospital from 2013 to 2015 and at Diyarbakır Military Hospital from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 to 2023 he served as a specialist physician in the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Ministry of Health, Gülhane Training and Research Hospital, where he was appointed associate professor in 2023. He is a member of the Association of Anesthesiology and Reanimation Specialists, the Regional Anesthesia Association and the Turkish Association of Anesthesiology and Reanimation.

Dr. Şimşek’s practice centers on anesthesiology and reanimation. This includes planning and delivering anesthesia for surgical procedures and monitoring patients through the operative period. A particular area of interest is regional anesthesia, in which anesthetic techniques are directed at a specific region of the body; the suitability of any technique is decided individually, taking into account the planned procedure and the patient’s medical condition.

Dr. Şimşek speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
