Prof. Feyzullah Çetinkaya, MD

Prof. Feyzullah Çetinkaya, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem International Hospital in İstanbul, where he practices within the Pediatrics unit. He has more than 43 years in medicine. Dr. Çetinkaya graduated from Karadeniz Teknik University Faculty of Medicine in 1983 and completed his compulsory service at Domaniç Central Health Center between 1983 and 1985. He completed his training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Child Health and Diseases in 1989, followed by military service at Adana Asker Hospital from 1990 to 1991. In 1996 he completed training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Pediatric Immunology and Allergic Diseases and became an Associate Professor at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine Department of Child Health and Diseases. From 1998 to 2009 he served as Clinical Chief at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital. In 2009 he became a Professor at Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Child Health and Diseases, and in 2014 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Çetinkaya’s work concerns allergic and immunological conditions in children. He evaluates and treats childhood asthma, food allergies, and other allergic diseases in children, and his practice includes pediatric immunology. His published work includes studies on wheezing in early childhood and later allergic rhinitis, hospital admissions for anaphylaxis in İstanbul, the causes of acute urticaria in children, and the prevalence of asthma and other allergic diseases in children born after in vitro fertilization.

He also sees infants and children with feeding and nutrition-related concerns, including lactose intolerance in infants and the monitoring of pediatric nutritional disorders. In addition, he diagnoses and treats childhood infectious diseases; his publications in this area include a retrospective analysis of deep neck infection in young children and an evaluation of children with ventriculoperitoneal shunt infection. He has also co-authored research on mothers’ knowledge and behaviors regarding breastfeeding and infant feeding in İstanbul.
