Fuad Jafarov, MD

Fuad Jafarov, MD is a gastroenterologist at Acibadem Kartal Hospital in İstanbul, where he works in the Gastroenterology unit with a subspecialty focus on Crohn’s disease and colitis treatment. Clinical focus

A central part of Dr. Jafarov’s practice is the assessment and long-term management of Crohn’s disease and colitis. He also evaluates and treats patients with celiac disease, Barrett’s esophagus, swallowing disorders, dyspepsia, and fatty liver disease. In these conditions, the diagnostic approach and the treatment plan depend on the individual patient’s symptoms, history, and findings, and follow-up is planned according to the clinical course.

Dr. Jafarov performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy for the investigation of upper and lower gastrointestinal complaints, as well as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for conditions of the bile ducts and pancreas when this is indicated. He also carries out endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty in patients for whom this procedure is considered clinically appropriate after evaluation. Whether an endoscopic procedure is suitable, and which one, is decided on a case-by-case basis following a review of the patient’s condition and any previous investigations.
