Gamze Bereket, MD

Gamze Bereket, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem Dr. Sinasi Can (Kadikoy) Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Pediatrics unit. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Turkish Medical Association and the Pediatric Nephrology Association. Her published work, appearing in journals such as Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Transplantation and Pediatric Clinics of North America, addresses pediatric renal transplantation, peritoneal dialysis, end-stage renal disease in children and related topics.

Clinical focus

A substantial part of Dr. Bereket’s practice involves the urinary tract and kidneys in children. She evaluates and treats recurrent urinary tract infections in children, pediatric kidney stone disease and hematuria (blood in the urine). She also assesses urinary incontinence in children, which may be considered together with constipation, as the two problems can occur alongside each other in younger patients.

Beyond nephrology-related concerns, Dr. Bereket provides general pediatric care. This includes the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric infectious diseases, upper respiratory tract illnesses in children, infant colic and gas discomfort. She follows children and adolescents for overall health and offers well-child follow-up, in which growth, development and preventive needs are reviewed at regular intervals.

How Dr. Bereket works with international patients

Dr. Bereket consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages.
