Hasan Hüseyin Özgökçe, MD

Hasan Hüseyin Özgökçe, MD is an Emergency Service physician at Acibadem Kartal Hospital in İstanbul. After completing his medical degree, Dr. Özgökçe worked at Van Çaldıran Devlet Hospital between 2022 and 2023. In 2023 he joined the Adult Emergency Department of Van Regional Training and Research Hospital, and in 2024 he worked in the Pediatric Emergency Department of the same hospital, gaining experience in the emergency assessment of both adult and pediatric patients. From 2024 to 2025 he served at the Van İpekyolu District Health Directorate. In 2025 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services, where he currently practices in the Emergency Service.

Clinical focus

Dr. Özgökçe’s work centers on the prompt evaluation and initial management of acute conditions and injuries. A significant part of his practice involves trauma, where early assessment of injuries and stabilization of the patient guide further care. He also has a particular interest in environmental emergencies, including bee stings and tick bites, which may require observation for local or systemic reactions and, where indicated, appropriate treatment and follow-up.

His areas of expertise further include drowning, acute hypoxia, and airway obstruction. These are time-sensitive situations in which the emergency physician’s role is to assess breathing and oxygenation, secure and maintain the airway where necessary, and coordinate the next steps of care with other departments as the patient’s condition requires. His experience in both adult and pediatric emergency departments informs his approach to patients of different age groups presenting with these conditions.

How Dr. Özgökçe works with international patients

Dr. Özgökçe consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. For international patients, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation with Dr. Özgökçe before or after a visit to the hospital, and any recommendations made remotely are considered preliminary until an in-person clinical examination can be carried out.
