Hüseyin Demir, MD

Hüseyin Demir, MD is a neurosurgeon with more than 11 years in medicine who joined Acibadem Health Group in 2025. Istanbul Aydin University Medical Park Hospital in 2023. He is a member of the Society for Nervous System Surgery and the Turkish Neurosurgical Society.

Clinical focus

Dr. Demir’s listed areas of expertise cover several groups of spinal and cranial conditions. In the lumbar spine, he treats herniated lumbar intervertebral discs, including with ozone disc nucleolysis; he co-authored a retrospective single-center study of 149 patients on this method (Medical Science Monitor, 2024). For osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, his listed procedures include percutaneous kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty, and he co-authored a comparison of unilateral and bilateral approaches to these procedures (Indian Journal of Neurosurgery, 2024). In the thoracolumbar spine, his work includes thoracolumbar fractures, thoracolumbar corpectomy and reconstruction with expandable cages; he was first author of a retrospective study of 16 patients comparing single-level and double-level corpectomy (Medical Science Monitor, 2024), and co-authored a 2016 paper on whether thoracolumbar fractures should be operated on according to the TLICS score.

He also treats cervical spondylotic myelopathy, on which he co-authored a retrospective study of factors affecting surgical outcomes (Istanbul Medical Journal, 2023). In cranial neurosurgery, his listed areas include Chiari malformation type I and syringomyelia, treated with an arachnoid-preserving surgical technique that was the subject of a 2025 publication he co-authored in Medical Science Monitor, and anterior communicating artery aneurysms, the topic of a 2023 paper on angiographic and preoperative assessment of perforating arteries.
