Prof. İldem Deveci, MD

Prof. İldem Deveci, MD is an otorhinolaryngology specialist at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul, where she practices within the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) unit. Dr. Deveci graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2003 and completed her residency in Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital between 2004 and 2009. In 2010 she worked at Acıbadem Healthcare Services and, from 2010 to 2011, as an ENT specialist at the GATA HAydarpaşa Hospital Ear Nose and Throat Clinic under the MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE. She then held a specialist post at İstanbul Beykoz State Hospital from 2011 to 2013, followed by a temporary assignment at İstanbul Fatih Sultan Mehmet Training and Research Hospital in 2013. From 2013 to 2019 she served as Chief Assistant at İstanbul Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital. She is a member of the TURKISH SOCIETY OF OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY AND HEAD AND NECK SURGERY and UYKUDER.

Clinical focus

Dr. Deveci’s areas of expertise include laryngeal cancer and salivary gland diseases, together with head and neck surgery more broadly. In these conditions, assessment generally involves a careful review of the patient’s history, examination findings and any existing imaging or pathology results before the possible treatment pathways are discussed. Where a malignancy is suspected or confirmed, the plan is developed step by step and depends on the individual findings.

Her surgical practice also covers nasal and sinus surgery, adenoid surgery and tonsil surgery, as well as rhinoplasty and prominent ear correction. The suitability of any of these procedures is determined individually after clinical evaluation, and not every patient will be a candidate for surgery; in some cases non-surgical management or further investigation may be recommended first.

How Dr. Deveci works with international patients

Dr. Deveci consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages.
