Prof. Dr. İlgin Özden

Prof. Dr. İlgin Özden is a specialist in General Surgery with a clinical focus on pancreatic, liver and biliary tract diseases, including biliary tract cancer, gallbladder cancer, cholecystitis, liver cancer, oncological surgery and robotic surgery. He practices at Acıbadem Taksim Hospital and Acıbadem Maslak Hospital, working in General Surgery and dedicated pancreatic, liver and biliary tract disease units.

He graduated from İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1991 and completed his General Surgery training at the same faculty in 1996. His education also includes periods at Kyoto University in 2001 and 2005, Wisconsin University in 2004, and Nagoya University in 2000–2001. His career path includes service at İstanbul Faculty of Medicine, where he worked in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery, including as chief assistant from 1996 and as the responsible physician of the Liver Transplant Program from 2007 to 2020. He also held academic leadership roles as Vice Dean from 2009 to 2011 and Deputy Chief Physician from 2013 to 2017, and later worked at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital in the Liver Transplantation and Liver-Biliary Tract-Pancreas Surgery Unit.
