Clinical focus

Dr. Barlas evaluates and treats a range of urological conditions in adults. In the area of male health, his practice covers sexual dysfunction treatment, andrology and male reproductive health, and the diagnosis and treatment of prostate diseases. For patients with lower urinary tract complaints, he assesses urinary incontinence and other aspects of bladder health, and he investigates hematuria (blood in the urine) to identify its underlying cause.

His work in urological oncology includes the diagnosis and management of bladder cancer. He also sees patients with kidney diseases, including hydronephrosis, in which urine accumulates in the kidney because of obstructed drainage. Among the procedures he performs is cystoscopy, an endoscopic examination of the urethra and bladder used in the assessment of hematuria, bladder tumors and other bladder conditions.
