Prof. Kemal Özyurt, MD is a dermatologist in the Dermatology unit of Acibadem Kayseri Hospital in Kayseri. Dr. Özyurt graduated from Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 2000. He then completed his specialization in dermatology and venereal diseases at the Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases in 2003. He has been part of Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2009 and currently sees adult and pediatric patients in the Dermatology unit in Kayseri.

Clinical focus

Dr. Özyurt treats body and genital warts, including condyloma, and evaluates patients with concerns involving the genital area or sexually transmitted infections that affect the skin. A significant part of his work involves inflammatory skin conditions. He manages atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis, and he offers eczema treatment for other forms of eczema. In these conditions, care is planned according to the patient’s symptoms, the areas of skin involved and the response to any previous therapy, and it may include advice on skin care and the avoidance of known triggers.

He also treats fungal infections, including athlete’s foot, nail fungal infections and Candida infections, and he cares for patients with Behçet’s disease. Urticaria treatment is another area of his practice; Dr. Özyurt evaluates pediatric urticaria as well as allergic-type rashes in adults. Where a trigger can be identified, this is discussed with the patient as part of the plan for controlling symptoms.

How Dr. Özyurt works with international patients

Dr. Özyurt consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before the visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports, such as earlier dermatology notes, laboratory and pathology results and discharge summaries, and it arranges the appointment and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing results and previous treatments, a clinical examination of the skin, hair or nails, and a discussion of the options. For international patients who are not yet able to travel, a video consultation can be arranged as a first step; because many skin conditions need to be examined in person, this may be followed by an in-person assessment.
