Lütfullah Çakır, MD

Lütfullah Çakır, MD is an Emergency Service physician at Acibadem Fulya Hospital in İstanbul. He has more than 27 years of experience in medicine. He graduated from Ondokuzmayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 2000 and completed his Family Medicine training at Taksim Training and Research Hospital in 2010. Dr. Çakır began his career in 1999 at Ordu Fatsa Duaveri Health Center and worked at Ordu Fatsa Devlet Hospital from 2000 to 2004. Between 2004 and 2006 he served at the Ordu 112 Hızır Emergency Command Center, before joining Taksim First Aid Training and Research Hospital in Family Medicine from 2006 to 2010. In 2010 he worked at Ordu Gürgentepe Devlet Hospital and then at Ordu Yenimahalle Family Health Center until 2015. From 2015 to 2017 he was Physician in Charge at the Ordu University Training and Research Hospital Palliative Care Center, and in 2017 he practiced as an Emergency Physician at Private Levent Hospital. He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2025. Dr. Çakır is a member of the Turkish Medical Association.

Clinical focus

Dr. Çakır’s clinical focus is the assessment and management of acute and urgent conditions presenting to the emergency department. His areas of expertise include trauma and emergency interventions, as well as environmental emergencies such as drowning and acute hypoxia. He also manages airway obstruction, a condition in which prompt recognition and intervention are needed to secure breathing.

A further area of his practice is the care of patients with insect bites and stings, including bee stings and tick bites. These presentations can range from mild local reactions to more serious systemic responses, and the emergency evaluation aims to identify the severity of the reaction and to decide on the appropriate immediate treatment and follow-up. In all of these situations, the emphasis is on timely evaluation, stabilization where required and clear guidance on the next steps of care.

How Dr. Çakır works with international patients

Dr. Çakır consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before traveling or as part of follow-up. Because emergency conditions are time-sensitive, patients with acute, potentially life-threatening symptoms are advised to seek immediate care at the nearest emergency service rather than wait for a scheduled consultation.
