Prof. Mehmet Ali Vardar, MD

Prof. Mehmet Ali Vardar, MD is a specialist in Gynecology & Obstetrics at Acibadem Adana Hospital in Adana, Turkey, where he practices within the Gynecology & Obstetrics unit. He remained at the same faculty for the following two decades, serving as specialist physician research assistant (1991–1992), assistant associate professor (1992–1996), associate professor (1996–2001, title awarded in 1995) and professor (2001–2011). In 2011 he obtained Medical Specialty Board certification in Gynecologic Oncology Surgery. He has been part of Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2009. He is a member of the Turkish Gynecologic Oncology Association, the Turkish Gynecology and Obstetrics Association, ESGO (European Society of Gynecologic Oncology), IGCS (International Gynecologic Cancer Society) and the Turkish Cancer Research and Fight Institution. His published work includes articles on cervical cancer treatment, HPV and cervical cytology, fallopian tube carcinoma, recurrent complete hydatidiform mole and the conservative management of ectopic pregnancy at the site of a cesarean scar.

Clinical focus

Dr. Vardar assesses and treats a broad range of gynecologic conditions. These include menstrual irregularities, menstrual pain and premenstrual syndrome, painful intercourse and sexual function disorders, sexually transmitted infections and Bartholin cysts. He provides endometriosis treatment and manages ectopic pregnancy. In urogynecology, his work covers pelvic floor conditions, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, and he also sees patients with menopause symptoms. His oncology-related practice includes HPV and gynecologic cancers.

Where surgery is indicated, Dr. Vardar performs robotic surgery. In obstetrics, he offers pregnancy follow-up and delivery care and manages complications such as postpartum fever.
