Mesut Fatih, MD

Between 1986 and 1992 he worked as a general practitioner with a pediatric focus. From 2005 his professional experience includes Bayrampaşa İren Hand Surgery Hospital, Academic Hospital, and Acıbadem Healthcare Services. He is a member of the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association and the Turkish Medical Association.

Clinical focus

Dr. Fatih assesses and treats a range of bone and joint problems in adults and children. His areas of expertise include trauma, osteoporosis, hand injuries, and spinal conditions. In the lower limb he performs foot and ankle surgery and treats meniscal tears of the knee. He also offers joint replacement surgery, including hip replacement and knee replacement, where this is considered appropriate after assessment. In the upper limb his practice covers shoulder and elbow surgery.

Pediatric orthopedics is a further area of his practice, alongside his earlier years in pediatric-focused general practice. Treatment recommendations are made after a clinical assessment and a review of the available imaging, and the choice between surgical and non-surgical management depends on the individual findings. Not every patient who is assessed will be advised to have an operation, and the expected course of treatment and recovery is explained on a case-by-case basis.

How Dr. Fatih works with international patients

Dr. Fatih consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options.
