Prof. Dr. Murat Kemal Atahan is a General Surgery specialist with a clinical focus on surgical oncology and breast diseases. His areas of interest include breast cancer, hereditary breast cancers, breast cancer during pregnancy, male breast cancer, mastectomy, breast reconstruction, inflammatory breast conditions such as mastitis, breast cysts, and breast pain.
He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1997 and completed his General Surgery training at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital in 2003. In 2012, he received certification in Surgical Oncology from the Medical Specialty Board and was appointed Associate Professor. Between 2013 and 2014, he trained at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan and completed certificate fellowships in intraoperative radiotherapy and intraoperative robotic surgery. In 2020, he was appointed Professor at İzmir Katip Çelebi University Faculty of Medicine.
