Dr. Nazlı Özcan

Dr. Nazlı Özcan is a radiologist at Acibadem Adana Hospital in Adana, where she works in the Radiology unit. Her subspecialty interests are Interventional Neuroradiology and Interventional Radiology, and her practice covers both diagnostic imaging and image-guided procedures. She has more than 25 years in medicine and speaks Turkish and English.

Dr. Özcan graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 2001 and completed her Radiology specialty training at the same faculty in 2006. Between 2006 and 2009 she worked as a radiology specialist at Adana Numune Hospital / KETEM and at Adana Ceyhan State Hospital. She has been part of Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2009. She is a member of the Turkish Radiology Association and the Adana Medical Chamber.

Clinical focus

Dr. Özcan’s diagnostic work includes mammography and the assessment of breast diseases, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), ultrasound imaging and scintigraphy. She also reports advanced CT-based examinations such as multidetector CT colonography, virtual colonoscopy and virtual angiography, which allow the bowel and blood vessels to be evaluated using cross-sectional imaging. The choice of imaging method depends on the clinical question, the patient’s history and any examinations that have already been performed.

In interventional radiology and interventional neuroradiology, Dr. Özcan performs image-guided procedures, including transarterial radioembolization (TARE). Whether an interventional approach is appropriate is decided case by case after reviewing the patient’s imaging, prior treatments and general condition, and in discussion with the referring physicians involved in the patient’s care.

How Dr. Özcan works with international patients

Dr. Özcan consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination where relevant, and a discussion of the diagnostic or interventional options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their imaging findings or a possible procedure before travelling to Adana.
