Ramız Ahmadov, MD

Ramız Ahmadov, MD is a neurosurgeon at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul, where he works in the Neurosurgery unit. Dr. Ahmadov graduated from Azerbeycan Neriman Nerimanov University Faculty of Medicine in 2004 and completed his neurosurgical training at Ege University Faculty of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery in 2013. His professional experience includes Central Clinical Hospital (2001–2005), the Neurosurgery Clinic of Ege University Hospital (2006–2014), Milli İstihbarat Hospital (2016–2017) and Emsey Hospital (2017–2019). He is a member of the Türk Nöroşirürji Association and The European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, and a member of the Post Graduate Education Committee of The European Association of Neurosurgical Societies. His published work includes case reports in the Journal of Neurological Sciences [Turkish], Turk Norol Derg and Interdisciplinary Neurosurgery on topics such as a thrombosed vein of Galen aneurysm, an iatrogenic basilar artery aneurysm after transsphenoidal transmaxillary surgery, and decompressive craniectomy. He has also contributed anatomical and operative drawings to several neurosurgery textbooks, including the Turkish Neurosurgical Society Basic Neurosurgery Books.

Clinical focus

A central part of Dr. Ahmadov’s work is the treatment of pituitary diseases. He also assesses and treats tumors of the brain, including gliomas and meningiomas, as well as spine and spinal cord tumors. In spinal neurosurgery, Dr. Ahmadov treats lumbar and cervical disc herniation and performs spine surgery for degenerative and tumor-related conditions.
