Reyhan Tamer, MD

Reyhan Tamer, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem Dr. Sinasi Can (Kadikoy) Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Pediatrics unit. Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Tamer’s work is preventive: well-child monitoring of age-appropriate growth and development, and childhood vaccinations. Within general pediatric care, she assesses and manages upper respiratory tract infections in children, constipation in children, and iron deficiency and anemia in children. In infants, her areas of expertise include lactose intolerance, infant gas pain (colic), and nutritional disorders such as marasmus, where evaluation of feeding and growth forms part of the assessment.

Dr. Tamer also sees children with rash illnesses of childhood, including chickenpox and measles, and children who have experienced febrile seizures. In each case, the approach is based on the child’s history, a clinical examination, and, where indicated, laboratory testing, with the aim of reaching a diagnosis and agreeing on a management plan with the family. Follow-up is arranged according to the child’s condition and age.

How Dr. Tamer works with international patients

Dr. Tamer speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example laboratory results, growth records, vaccination records, ultrasound or X-ray reports, and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
