Assoc. Prof. Suat Bilici, MD

Assoc. Prof. Suat Bilici, MD is an otorhinolaryngology specialist practicing in the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) unit at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul. His subspecialty is head and neck surgery, and his clinical work also covers nasal surgery, voice and hearing complaints, snoring, tinnitus, and cancers affecting the mouth, larynx, tongue and tongue base. Dr. Bilici graduated from İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1987 and completed his specialty training in Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases at İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1992. He worked at Kırklareli Devlet Hospital from 1992 to 2009 and then at Health Sciences University, İstanbul Training and Research Hospital from 2009 to 2019, where he held the position of Associate Professor in 2018–2019. In 2013 he completed training in Rhinoplasty and Facial Plastic Surgery at Universitat klinikum Hamburg in Germany. He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2021. He is a member of the Facial Plastic Surgery Association, the İstanbul ENT Specialists Association, the Turkish Ear, Nose and Throat and Head and Neck Surgery Foundation, the Turkish National ENT and Head and Neck Surgery Association, the Robotic Surgery Association, the Türk Rinoloji Association, the Turkish Medical Association and the Kafa Tabanı Association. His published research includes studies on obstructive sleep apnea, unilateral vocal fold paralysis, chronic tinnitus, nasal polyps, thyroid ultrasonography findings, olfactory function after radioactive iodine therapy and rhinoplasty morbidity.

Clinical focus

In head and neck surgery, Dr. Bilici evaluates and treats patients with oral cancer, laryngeal cancer, and tongue and tongue base cancer. The assessment of these conditions generally relies on clinical examination, imaging and pathology results, and the treatment approach is decided individually according to the location and extent of the disease and the overall condition of the patient.

His nasal and airway work includes septoplasty, septorhinoplasty and rhinoplasty, as well as the evaluation of snoring. He also performs tonsillectomy and sees patients with hoarseness, hearing loss and tinnitus. For voice, hearing and tinnitus complaints, the first step is usually a careful history and examination to identify possible causes before any treatment is discussed.

How Dr. Bilici works with international patients

Dr. Bilici consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages.
