How Dr. Sarıkavak works with international patients

Dr. Sarıkavak consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports, such as previous psychiatric or medical assessments, laboratory results, discharge summaries and any imaging reports that may be relevant, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of previous treatments and existing reports, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. For international patients who are not able to travel at the outset, a video consultation is available, which can help clarify whether an in-person assessment is appropriate and what should be prepared in advance. Any recommendations made at this stage are preliminary and are confirmed after a full clinical evaluation.
