Tamer Turan, MD

Tamer Turan, MD is a cardiovascular surgeon in the Cardiovascular Surgery unit at Acibadem Bursa Hospital in Bursa. Clinical focus

A substantial part of Dr. Turan’s work concerns congenital heart disease, including ventricular septal defect (VSD), and pediatric cardiovascular surgery. In adult patients he treats heart valve disease, including aortic valve stenosis, as well as aortic aneurysm and other major vessel disorders. The choice between surgical techniques depends on the individual patient’s anatomy, general condition and previous treatment, and is made only after a full assessment.

Dr. Turan also performs robotic surgery, including robotic bypass surgery, where a robot-assisted approach is considered appropriate for the patient. Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation forms a further part of his practice, supporting recovery of heart and lung function after cardiac procedures. Whether a minimally invasive or robot-assisted technique is suitable is decided on a case-by-case basis, and some patients may be better served by a conventional operation.

How Dr. Turan works with international patients

Dr. Turan consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
