İzzet Mammedov, MD

İzzet Mammedov, MD is an otorhinolaryngology specialist working in the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) unit at Acibadem Taksim Hospital in İstanbul. He also sees patients with voice hoarseness and with salivary gland diseases, and performs thyroid surgery. Whether a surgical or non-surgical approach is appropriate depends on the individual findings, and Dr. Mammedov discusses the possible options, their expected course and their limitations with each patient before any decision is made. Not every patient is a candidate for every procedure, and the assessment may indicate that further tests are needed before a plan can be agreed.

How Dr. Mammedov works with international patients

Dr. Mammedov speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who prefer another language. Before the visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, audiology findings where available, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation with Dr. Mammedov typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical ENT examination and a discussion of the options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their case with Dr. Mammedov before deciding whether to travel; a final treatment recommendation may still require an in-person examination.
