Assoc. Prof. Bahadır Topuz, MD

Assoc. Prof. Bahadır Topuz, MD is a urologist at Acibadem Fulya Hospital in İstanbul, where he practices within the hospital’s Urology unit. Whether a robotic approach is suitable depends on the individual patient’s diagnosis, the extent of the disease and their general health, and this is decided only after a full assessment.

Benign conditions form the other main strand of his work. He diagnoses and manages benign prostatic hyperplasia, an enlargement of the prostate that can cause urinary symptoms in men as they age, and he treats patients with kidney stones. In the field of andrology, he sees men with concerns about reproductive health and male infertility, offering assessment and, where indicated, treatment as part of a couple’s overall fertility evaluation. In all of these areas, treatment recommendations are made after a review of the patient’s history, examination findings and investigations, and are discussed with the patient before any decision is taken.

How Dr. Topuz works with international patients

Dr. Topuz consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
