Berhan Bayram, MD

Berhan Bayram, MD is a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul, where he works within the Orthopedics & Joint Center. Dr. Bayram graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2012 and worked as a general practitioner at Çameli State Hospital the same year. From 2013 to 2019 he was a resident physician at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, completing his Orthopedics and Traumatology training there in 2019. He then served as a specialist doctor at Şırnak State Hospital from 2019 to 2021 before joining Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2021. In 2024, he attended the Sports Medicine and Knee Unit at ICATME-Hospital Universitari Dexeus of Barcelona, Spain. Alongside his hospital work, he has served as team doctor for the A men’s basketball team of Galatasaray Spor Kulübü (2017–2019), the U18 girls’ national team of the Türkiye Basketbol Federasyonu (2019–2020), and, since 2020, the National Women’s Basketball Team of the Turkish Basketball Federation; since 2023 he has also been basketball team doctor for Bahçeşehir Koleji Spor Kulübü. He is a member of the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association (TOTBİD), the Turkish Sports Injuries Arthroscopy and Knee Surgery Association (TUSYAD), the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Education Council (TOTEK), and the Hip Joint Preservation Surgery Association (KEKCD).

Clinical focus

Dr. Bayram’s clinical work covers sports and knee injuries, including meniscus tears, cruciate ligament rupture and muscle tears, as well as trauma care. He treats osteoarthritis and performs hip replacement surgery and knee replacement surgery for patients with joint degeneration. His practice also includes shoulder and elbow surgery, foot and ankle surgery, and pediatric orthopedics, and he approaches each case according to the individual patient’s diagnosis and treatment needs.

His published research includes work on arthroscopic repair of hip labral tears, surgical options for glenohumeral instability in overhead athletes, arthroscopic reconstruction of osteochondral lesions of the talus, intra-articular calcaneal fractures, distal radius fractures, and pediatric extremity fractures.
