Dr. Burçak Bozdemir Aral

Dr. Burçak Bozdemir Aral is a dermatologist at Acibadem Kozyatagi Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Dermatology unit. Her practice covers both general and cosmetic dermatology. Her clinical interests include active acne, hair loss, eczema (atopic dermatitis), athlete’s foot, sexually transmitted diseases, genital warts (condyloma) and excessive sweating, and her work also includes botulinum toxin applications and PRP treatment. She has more than 25 years of experience in medicine.

Dr. Aral graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2001. She worked at the Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital Dermatology Clinic from 2002 to 2008 and completed her specialty training at the Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases in 2008. She then carried out her compulsory service at Diyarbakır Training and Research Hospital from 2008 to 2009, and between 2009 and 2017 she practiced at Hisar Intercontinental Hospital. In 2017 she joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services. She is a member of the Turkish Dermatology Association, the Turkish Medical Association and the Association of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases.

Clinical focus

A substantial part of Dr. Aral’s practice is devoted to medical dermatology. She assesses and treats active acne, eczema (atopic dermatitis) and athlete’s foot, a fungal infection of the skin of the feet. She also sees patients with sexually transmitted diseases and genital warts (condyloma), in keeping with her training in dermatology and venereal diseases. Hair loss and excessive sweating are further areas of her clinical work; the approach in each case depends on the findings of the examination and the patient’s history.

In cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Aral’s practice includes botulinum toxin applications and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment. Whether a procedure is appropriate, and which one, is decided after a clinical assessment of the individual patient’s skin or hair concern and a discussion of the available options, including their limitations.

How Dr. Aral works with international patients

Dr. Aral consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
