Ceren Güney Güleç, DDS is a pediatric dentistry specialist in the Dental & Oral Health unit at Acibadem International Hospital in İstanbul. Clinical focus

A substantial part of Dr. Güleç’s practice is preventive. When decay is present, she provides dental fillings for both primary and permanent teeth, as well as aesthetic pediatric dentistry aimed at restoring the form and appearance of affected teeth.

Dr. Güleç also treats tooth root infection and performs root canal treatment in primary teeth and in permanent teeth. Where a tooth cannot be preserved, she carries out tooth extraction. She manages dental trauma treatment following injuries to the teeth and surrounding tissues, which are common in childhood. For children who are very young, anxious, have extensive treatment needs or particular medical circumstances, dental treatment under general anesthesia can be considered after assessment, so that the necessary care can be completed in a controlled setting.

How Dr. Güleç works with international patients

Dr. Güleç consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example dental X-rays, previous treatment notes and any relevant medical records, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous dental treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options and their implications. Video consultation is available for international patients, which may be useful for an initial review of records and for discussing whether travel for treatment is advisable. Any recommendation on treatment, including the use of general anesthesia, is made on an individual basis after clinical assessment.
