Dt. Emre Asım

Dt. Asım completed his dental education at Yeditepe University in 2015. He then went on to train in prosthodontics at Marmara University, completing this specialty training in 2019. He treats dental caries (tooth decay) and gum disease, performs tooth extractions when a tooth cannot be preserved, and carries out root canal treatment for teeth with infected or inflamed pulp. Assessment of oral hygiene and the evaluation of dental X-rays form part of his routine diagnostic work, helping to identify problems such as decay between teeth, bone changes around the roots, or gum-related conditions that may not be visible on clinical examination alone.

In line with his prosthodontic training, a significant part of his work involves restoring and replacing teeth. This includes dental crowns and bridges, complete and partial dentures, and dental implant prosthetics, meaning the crowns, bridges or dentures that are attached to implants once they have integrated with the jawbone. He also provides teeth whitening for patients who wish to address discoloration, after first assessing whether the teeth and gums are healthy enough for the procedure. The most suitable option for each patient depends on the condition of the remaining teeth, the gums and the supporting bone, and is discussed after examination.

How Dt. Asım works with international patients

Patients traveling from abroad are supported by the Acibadem international patient team, which coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example dental X-rays, panoramic or CT images and any previous treatment records, arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation with Dt. Asım typically covers the patient's dental history and current complaints, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination of the teeth and gums, and a discussion of the possible treatment options along with their expected steps and timing. Interpreters can be arranged for patients who do not share a common language with the clinical team, so that questions can be asked and answered clearly during the visit. Treatment plans are individual and are finalized only after the in-person examination and any additional imaging that may be needed.
