Engin Erdemoğlu, MD

Engin Erdemoğlu, MD is a medical oncologist in the Medical Oncology Department at Acibadem Kartal Hospital and Acibadem Atasehir Hospital in İstanbul. Dr. Erdemoğlu graduated from İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2009. He trained as an Internal Medicine Resident at Göztepe Training and Research Hospital from 2009 to 2014 and completed his Internal Medicine training at Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital in 2014. He then worked as an Internal Medicine Specialist at Mardin State Hospital from 2014 to 2017 and at Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital from 2017 to 2020. From 2020 to 2023 he was a Medical Oncology Subspecialty Resident at Göztepe Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital, and in 2023 he completed his Medical Oncology training at İstanbul Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital. He subsequently served as an Oncology Specialist at Osmaniye State Hospital from 2023 to 2025 and at İstanbul Oncology Hospital in 2025, before joining the Medical Oncology Department at his current hospitals in 2026.

Clinical focus

Dr. Erdemoğlu evaluates and treats adults with a wide range of solid tumors. His areas of expertise include breast cancer, stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer within the gastrointestinal group, as well as prostate cancer. In gynecological oncology he sees patients with ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer.

He also treats patients with lung and other thoracic cancers, head and neck cancers and bone tumors. Because the management of these conditions may involve several specialties, the medical oncology assessment focuses on the patient’s diagnosis, stage, prior treatments and general health in order to discuss the options that may be appropriate for the individual case. How Dr. Erdemoğlu works with international patients

Dr. Erdemoğlu consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit.
