Prof. Enis Rauf Coşkuner, MD

Prof. Enis Rauf Coşkuner, MD is a urologist at Acibadem Bakirkoy Hospital in İstanbul, where he works in the Urology unit. His subspecialty areas are urinary incontinence and bladder health, the diagnosis and treatment of prostate diseases, andrology (male reproductive health) and robotic surgery.

Dr. Coşkuner graduated from İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1991 and completed his residency at the İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine Department of Urology between 1992 and 1997, qualifying in urology in 1997. He then worked as a urology specialist at International Hospital from 1997 to 2000 and joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2000. He is a member of the Türk Endoüroloji Association, Türk Üroonkoloji Association, Türk Androloji Association, CETAD (Sexual Education Treatment and Research Association), ESSM (European Society for Sexual Medicine), EAU (European Association of Urology), Turkish Urology Association and İstanbul Medical Chamber. His published work includes a review of complications of the Mainz Pouch II (Sigma Rectum Pouch) in Eur. Urol., preliminary results of holmium laser ablation of recurrent strictures of the urethra and bladder neck in J. Endourol., an evaluation of immunohistochemical PSA staining rates in prostate cancer, and case reports on urachal adenocarcinoma and penile necrosis due to priapism.

Clinical focus

Dr. Coşkuner evaluates and treats a range of urological conditions. These include urinary incontinence and other bladder health problems, bladder cancer, penile cancer, and kidney diseases. In prostate care, his work covers the diagnosis and treatment of prostate diseases, including the assessment of prostate cancer.

A further part of his practice is andrology and male reproductive health. This includes the assessment of male infertility, Peyronie’s disease and sexually transmitted diseases. Where a surgical approach is considered appropriate after evaluation, robotic surgery is among the techniques he uses. Treatment decisions are made after reviewing each patient’s history, imaging and laboratory findings, and the options are discussed with the patient before any plan is agreed.

How Dr. Coşkuner works with international patients

Dr. Coşkuner consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
