Prof. Faruk Abike, MD

Prof. Faruk Abike, MD is a specialist in Gynecology & Obstetrics who sees patients at Acibadem Taksim Hospital and Acibadem Atasehir Hospital in İstanbul. Dr. Abike graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and completed his residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Dr. Zekai Tahir Burak Women’s Health Training and Research Hospital between 1998 and 2003. In 2008 he held an observer position at the Johns Hopkins University Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Center, and in 2011 he received a doctorate in Pharmacology from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine. His professional experience includes specialist posts at Şarkikaraağaç State Hospital, where he also served as chief physician, a period as a medical second lieutenant in the Ankara GATA Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and specialist positions at Bayındır Hospital, Medicana International Ankara Hospital and Florence Nightingale Kadıköy Hospital. In 2014 he joined İstanbul Bilim University Faculty of Medicine as an assistant associate professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and in 2024 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services. He has co-authored publications on HPV infection and cervical cytology, cervical carcinoma, frozen section results in ovarian and uterine lesions, prenatal diagnosis and the evaluation of the endometrial cavity in infertile patients.

Clinical focus

Dr. Abike evaluates and manages a range of gynecological conditions. These include cervical cancer, an area reflected in his published work on HPV infection and abnormal cervical cytology, and polycystic ovary syndrome. He also sees patients with fertility concerns, Bartholin cysts, pelvic pain and pelvic functional disorders.

Within his subspecialty areas of urogynecology and menopause, he provides assessment and care for pelvic floor complaints and for symptoms and health questions related to the menopausal transition.
