Prof. İbrahim Kaya, MD

Prof. İbrahim Kaya, MD is an orthopedic surgery and traumatology specialist at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul, where he works within the Orthopedics & Joint Center. His practice covers hip and knee replacement surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, and robotic surgery, together with orthopedic trauma, sports traumatology, deformity correction, and limb lengthening. Dr. Kaya graduated from İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1994 and completed his specialty training in orthopedics and traumatology at the same faculty in 1999, having served there as a research assistant from 1995 to 1999. He began his career as a general practitioner at Çamlıkaya Health Center (1994–1995). He then worked as a specialist at Küçükçekmece Kızılay Medical Center (2000–2003), Pamukova State Hospital (2003–2005), and the Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic of Haseki Training and Research Hospital (2005–2014). He joined Acibadem Healthcare Services in 2010. He is a member of the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association (TOTBİD), the Turkish Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Association, the Turkish Extremity Reconstruction and Ilizarov Methods Application Development Association (ASAMI), and the Turkish Medical Association (TTB). His published work includes studies on risk factors for hip fractures in elderly patients, meniscal tear types and their association with anterior cruciate ligament lesions, surgical treatment of pediatric supracondylar humerus fractures, and total hip arthroplasty procedures.

Clinical focus

Dr. Kaya's clinical work centers on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of joint diseases and injuries. He performs hip replacement and knee replacement surgery for patients with advanced joint disease, and robotic surgery forms part of his practice in joint surgery. In shoulder and elbow surgery he assesses and treats conditions of the upper limb, including cases that may require elbow surgery. Sports medicine and sports traumatology are another part of his work, with a particular emphasis on anterior cruciate ligament tears and meniscus tears.

He also treats orthopedic trauma and undertakes deformity correction surgery and limb lengthening.
