Assoc. Prof. Kemal Öncü, MD

Assoc. Prof. Kemal Öncü, MD is a gastroenterologist at Acibadem Bodrum Hospital in Muğla, Turkey, where he works in the Gastroenterology unit. He has more than 32 years in medicine. He has co-authored publications in journals including Turk J Gastroenterol, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, Annals of Hepatology and Hepatol Res, on topics such as percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, dyssynergic defecation in functional constipation, sedation during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, benign recurrent intrahepatic cholestasis, malignant biliary obstruction, and experimental studies on liver fibrosis and acute pancreatitis.

Clinical focus

Dr. Öncü evaluates and manages a range of digestive and liver conditions. His areas of expertise include inflammatory bowel disease, namely Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as celiac disease, small bowel diseases, diverticulitis, gastroenteritis and food poisoning. In liver and biliary disease, his practice covers hepatitis, liver enlargement, cholestasis in pregnancy and liver cancer.
