Assoc. Prof. Murad Gulıyev, MD

Assoc. Prof. Murad Gulıyev, MD is a medical oncologist in the Medical Oncology Department of Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul. He holds the academic title of Associate Professor and has more than 11 years in medicine. His work centers on the medical oncology evaluation and treatment of solid tumors, including cancers of the prostate, breast, lung and thorax, colon and rectum, stomach, pancreas, liver, kidney and bladder, as well as head and neck cancers, endometrial cancer, malignant melanoma and other skin tumors.

Dr. Gulıyev graduated from Azerbaijan Medical University Faculty of Medicine in 2015. He completed his training in Internal Medicine at İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2021 and his training in Medical Oncology at the same faculty in 2025. Also in 2025, he received the European (ESMO) Medical Oncology Competency Certificate in Berlin, Germany. His professional experience includes a role at Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2020, a position as Specialist Physician at Acıbadem İnternational Hospital from 2021 to 2023, and a position as Specialist Physician at Yeni Yüzyıl University Private Gaziosmanpaşa Hospital from 2024 to 2025. In 2026 he took up his current position as Associate Professor. He is a member of the Turkish Medical Oncology Association (TTOD), the American Society Of Medical Oncolog (ASCO) and the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO).

Clinical focus

Dr. Gulıyev provides medical oncology care for a broad range of solid tumors. In genitourinary oncology, his areas of expertise include prostate cancer, kidney cancer and bladder cancer. In gastrointestinal oncology, he sees patients with stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer and colorectal cancer.

His practice also covers breast cancer, endometrial cancer, lung and thoracic cancers, head and neck cancers, and malignant melanoma and other skin tumors. As a medical oncologist, his role is to assess the diagnosis and stage of disease, review previous treatments, and discuss the medical treatment options that may be appropriate for the individual patient, in coordination with other specialties involved in cancer care where needed.

How Dr. Gulıyev works with international patients

Dr. Gulıyev consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the hospital’s international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit itself. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options.
