Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Özdabakoğlu’s practice is the assessment of patients with suspected or known coronary artery disease. He uses echocardiography, Holter rhythm monitoring and angiography to evaluate heart structure, rhythm and blood flow. His clinical interests include ischemic heart disease, chronic total occlusion of coronary arteries and percutaneous coronary interventions. He also follows patients with heart failure and with risk factors for cardiovascular disease, including hypertension and hyperlipidemia, where long-term management and regular follow-up are usually needed.

In the field of structural and valvular heart disease, Dr. Özdabakoğlu evaluates and treats patients with aortic valve stenosis and other forms of heart valve disease, as well as atrial septal defect (ASD). For rhythm disorders, his work includes the diagnosis and management of atrial fibrillation and the use of pacemakers in patients for whom this is indicated. The choice of diagnostic tests and treatment depends on each patient’s symptoms, findings and overall health, and is discussed with the patient after the initial evaluation.
