Şerife Karaarslan, DDS

Şerife Karaarslan, DDS is a dentist in Oral & Dental Health at the Acibadem Zekeriyaköy Outpatient Clinic in İstanbul, where she practises within the Dental & Oral Health unit. Clinical focus

A significant part of Dr. Karaarslan’s work concerns teeth grinding (bruxism). Depending on the individual findings, treatment may involve a custom night guard to protect the teeth during sleep or Botox applications aimed at reducing the activity of the chewing muscles. She also treats the consequences that grinding and other causes can have on the teeth, such as enamel loss and broken teeth, and she provides routine restorative and surgical care, including dental fillings and tooth extraction. Gingivitis is a further area of her practice, where the aim is to address gum inflammation before it progresses.

In aesthetic dentistry, Dr. Karaarslan works with porcelain restorations, laminate veneers, zirconia restorations and composite bonding. The choice between these options depends on the condition of the existing tooth structure, the extent of damage or discoloration and the patient’s expectations, and it is discussed with the patient after a clinical examination. Restorative and aesthetic treatments are planned together where appropriate, so that the function of the teeth and their appearance are considered at the same time.

Dr. Karaarslan speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
