Prof. Dr. Seyit Ali Gümüştaş

Prof. Dr. Seyit Ali Gümüştaş is an Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology specialist at Acibadem Fulya Hospital in İstanbul, where he works within the Orthopedics & Joint Center. He is a member of the Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors Division, the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association (TOTDER), the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Union Association (TOTBİD), the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Education Council (TOTEK) and AO Spine.

Clinical focus

The clinical work of Dr. Gümüştaş centers on orthopedic oncology surgery and the assessment and treatment of bone tumors. His published work reflects this focus and includes studies on tenosynovial giant cell tumors of the hand and of the foot and ankle, en bloc resection of periosteal chondroma, surgical management of clavicular malignancies, pilomatrixoma of the extremities from an orthopedic oncology perspective, and a bibliometric analysis of frequently cited papers in orthopaedic oncology. He has also co-authored publications on trauma topics, including intravenous tranexamic acid in the fixation of pelvic and acetabular fractures, traumatic hip dislocations in patients younger than 16 years, and surgically treated adolescent capitellum fractures.

A second area of interest is spinal disorders, supported by his fellowship at the National Center for Spinal Disorders and his membership in AO Spine. How Dr. Gümüştaş works with international patients

Dr. Gümüştaş consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages.
