Tamer Çeviker, MD

In 2011 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services, and between 2011 and 2017 he also worked at Özel Eyüp Haliç Hospital.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Çeviker’s practice is dedicated to metabolic and endocrine conditions. He evaluates and treats patients with diabetes and prediabetes, and he manages the complications that can accompany long-standing diabetes, including diabetic foot conditions and Charcot foot. Within his subspecialty interest in thyroid disorders, he provides thyroid disease treatment, assessing thyroid function and planning medical management where indicated. He also sees patients with obesity, which frequently overlaps with diabetes and other chronic conditions and is addressed as part of an overall internal medicine assessment.

His areas of expertise further include anemia, edema and the broader field of chronic disease management, in which several long-term conditions are monitored and treated together. Dr. Çeviker has a particular interest in geriatric health, meaning the medical care of older adults who often live with multiple conditions and medications. In addition, he evaluates patients presenting with symptoms of poisoning. The aim in each case is to establish a clear diagnosis, review existing treatment and agree on a follow-up plan that is appropriate for the individual patient.

How Dr. Çeviker works with international patients

Dr. Çeviker speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as laboratory and pathology results, ultrasound, MRI or CT reports, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges the appointment and hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. For patients who are not yet able to travel, a video consultation with Dr. Çeviker can be arranged so that an initial review of the case can take place remotely.
