Prof. Dr. Turgut Aydın

Prof. Dr. Turgut Aydın is a specialist in Gynecology & Obstetrics at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul, where he sees patients through the Gynecology & Obstetrics, Treatment of Endometriosis, and Vitro Fertilization and Reproductive Medicine Center units. His clinical work centers on endometriosis, fertility and infertility care, polycystic ovary syndrome, menstrual irregularities, and pregnancy follow-up and delivery. He has more than 30 years of experience in medicine.

Dr. Aydın graduated from Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 1996 and completed his specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital in 2001. Between 2002 and 2006 he worked at Rize 82.Yıl Devlet Hospital, followed by VKV Amerikan Hospital IVF Ünitesi (2007–2008) and Kayseri IVF Center (2008–2011). He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2011. He is a member of the Turkish Medical Association, the Turkish Gynecology and Obstetrics Association, the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and serves on the Supervisory Board of the Reproductive Health and Infertility Association TSRM. His published research includes work on progesterone levels as a marker of ovulation timing in subfertile women and in natural cycle frozen-thawed embryo transfers, oocyte vitrification for oncological and social reasons, ovarian follicle size in relation to IVF outcomes, and sperm-washing media.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Aydın’s practice is reproductive medicine. He evaluates and treats women and couples with infertility, including cases involving low ovarian reserve (AMH), and offers egg freezing for patients who wish to preserve fertility. He also manages polycystic ovary syndrome and menstrual irregularities, conditions that frequently overlap with fertility concerns. In the treatment of endometriosis, his approach takes into account both symptom control and the patient’s reproductive plans.

In obstetrics, Dr. Aydın provides pregnancy follow-up and delivery care, including epidural delivery, cesarean delivery and water birth. He also diagnoses and manages ectopic pregnancy.
