Yusuf Gençten, MD

Yusuf Gençten, MD is a urologist in the Urology unit of Acibadem Kayseri Hospital in Kayseri, Turkey. With more than 17 years in medicine, he sees adult and paediatric patients with conditions of the kidneys, bladder, prostate and urethra, as well as men seeking assessment for sexual dysfunction or infertility. Dr. Gençten graduated from Ondokuzmayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 2009. He began his career in emergency medicine at Aybastı State Hospital from 2009 to 2010 before starting his urology residency. From 2010 to 2015 he trained in the Urology Clinic of Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Medicine / Training and Research Hospital and completed his specialty training in urology at Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Medicine in 2015. He then worked in the Urology Clinic of Ilgın State Hospital from 2015 to 2017, in the Urology Clinic of Private Melikgazi Hospital in 2018, and in the Urology Outpatient Clinic of Private Magnet Kayseri Hospital from 2018 to 2019. He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2026.

Clinical focus

Dr. Gençten’s practice covers a broad range of urinary, reproductive and male sexual health concerns. He evaluates and treats kidney diseases, urinary incontinence and other aspects of bladder health, and diagnoses and treats diseases of the prostate and urethra. In men’s health, he provides sexual dysfunction treatment and assessment for infertility.

His work also includes urologic cancers, in particular bladder cancer and testicular cancer. He performs cystoscopy as part of the diagnostic work-up of bladder and urethral conditions, and he sees children with urological problems within paediatric urology. The choice of diagnostic tests and treatment is made individually after a clinical assessment and a review of the patient’s existing findings.

How Dr. Gençten works with international patients

Dr. Gençten consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges the appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the possible options.
