Dr. Züleyha Özgen

Dr. Züleyha Özgen is a dermatologist at Acibadem Atasehir Hospital in İstanbul, where she practises within the Dermatology unit. With more than 23 years in medicine, she sees patients with a range of skin, hair and sweating concerns, including active acne, pigmentation disorders, hair loss, psoriasis and excessive sweating.

Dr. Özgen graduated from İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2003 and completed her specialty training at the Marmara University Faculty of Medicine Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases in 2009. She then worked as a specialist doctor at Afşin State Hospital from 2009 to 2011 and as a lecturer at Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases, from 2011 to 2013. In 2013 she became a doctor faculty member at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases, and in 2022 she joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services. She is a member of the Turkish Dermatology Association, the Turkish Medical Association, the Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Association and the Turkish Pediatric Dermatology Association. Her published work, appearing in peer-reviewed dermatology journals, addresses topics such as psoriasis and its systemic associations, pemphigus, atopic dermatitis and scabies.

Clinical focus

Dr. Özgen’s clinical work covers both inflammatory skin disease and procedural dermatology. She treats active acne, pigmentation concerns and psoriasis, with the treatment approach depending on the type and extent of the condition, its course and the patient’s general health. Hair loss and excessive sweating are further areas of her practice; for excessive sweating, botulinum toxin treatment is among the options she offers, and botulinum toxin is also used in other dermatological indications.

Her procedural expertise includes PRP (platelet-rich plasma) applications, cryotherapy and gold needle applications. Whether a given procedure is suitable is decided after a clinical examination and a discussion of the expected effects, the possible side effects and any alternatives, so that patients understand what a treatment can and cannot achieve for their individual situation.
