Aynur Eken, MD

Aynur Eken, MD is a medical oncologist at Acibadem Adana Hospital in Adana, where she practices within the Medical Oncology Department. Dr. Eken’s practice covers the medical oncology management of a wide range of cancers. Her areas of expertise include lung and thoracic cancers, head and neck cancers, laryngeal cancer, and brain tumors. In gastrointestinal oncology, she treats patients with colorectal cancer, small intestine cancer, liver cancer, and peritoneal cancer.

She also cares for patients with breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and bladder cancer, as well as lymphoma. As a medical oncologist, her role centers on evaluating each patient’s diagnosis, stage, and prior treatment history and discussing the systemic treatment options that may be appropriate for their individual situation. Where a case calls for input from other disciplines, this is considered as part of the overall treatment discussion.

How Dr. Eken works with international patients

Dr. Eken speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior medical documentation, including MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation with Dr. Eken typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of existing imaging and any previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the options that may be considered. For international patients who are not yet able to travel, video consultation is available, which may allow an initial review of the case and a conversation about possible next steps before any decision about traveling to Adana is made.
