Asst. Prof. Berkhan Yılmaz, MD

Asst. Prof. Berkhan Yılmaz, MD is a specialist in Aesthetic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery working in the Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery unit at Acibadem Atasehir Hospital in İstanbul. He has more than 33 years in medicine, and his clinical work covers both aesthetic procedures of the face and breast and reconstructive care, including Mohs surgery and the treatment of chronic wounds.

Dr. Yılmaz graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1993 and completed his specialty training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. Between 1993 and 1999 he worked as a Research Assistant in the Marmara University Faculty of Medicine Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and during this period he was also a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Craniofacial and Reconstructive Surgery, Providence Hospital, Southfield, Michigan, USA. He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 1999. He is a member of the Turkish Plastic Surgery Association, the Reconstructive Microsurgery Association, the İstanbul Medical Chamber, the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Association, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Aesthetic Facial and Nasal Surgery Association. His published work includes case reports and studies on reconstruction with local flaps in head and neck defects, maxillofacial trauma, experimental skin flaps and microvenous autografts, a technical tip for otoplasty, tissue washing in pediatric extravasation injuries and the use of gabapentin for pain after face-lift surgery.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Yılmaz’s practice is breast surgery. He performs breast augmentation surgery, including minimally invasive breast augmentation, as well as breast reduction surgery, and he sees patients with breast diseases that may require plastic or reconstructive treatment. He also carries out the combined procedures usually described as a mommy makeover, which are planned according to each patient’s findings and goals.

In facial surgery, Dr. Yılmaz performs rhinoplasty and offers non-surgical eyelid aesthetics. His reconstructive work includes Mohs surgery for skin tumors and the care and treatment of chronic wounds. How Dr. Yılmaz works with international patients

Dr. Yılmaz consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages.
