Her published work includes a congress presentation on risk factors for ciprofloxacin resistance in E. coli strains isolated from hospitalized patients with urinary tract infection, a case report on chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis with secondary adrenal insufficiency presented at a European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases congress, an evaluation of 33 cases of Salmonella infection, and a chapter on upper respiratory tract infections in a family health education publication.

Clinical focus

Dr. Hüner’s clinical work covers a range of infectious conditions in adults. Her areas of expertise include lower respiratory tract infections and communicable diseases, as well as sexually transmitted infections, including HIV and AIDS and HPV. The assessment of these conditions generally involves a careful history of symptoms and possible exposures, a clinical examination, and laboratory testing where this is appropriate, followed by a discussion of the findings and the treatment options that may be considered.

She also provides travel health consultations for patients planning to travel or returning from abroad with health concerns, and she assesses and manages shingles. In each case, the approach is tailored to the individual patient’s history, current condition, and any previous treatment.

How Dr. Hüner works with international patients

Dr. Hüner consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
