Olcay İsbir, MD

Olcay İsbir, MD is an anesthesiology specialist in the Anesthesiology & Reanimation unit at Acibadem Fulya Hospital in İstanbul. From 1997 to 1998 he was a Research Fellow in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain at Mayo Clinic Rochester MN, USA, and from 1998 to 1999 he worked as a Specialist Physician at Marmara University Institute of Neurological Sciences. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, the European Society of Anesthesiology, the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia, the Society of Neurosurgical Anesthesia and Critical Care, the Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, and the İnternational Anesthesia Research Society. His published work includes a study of perioperative complications in pediatric neuroendoscopic third ventriculostomy, a comparison of the cardiac effects of high-dose alfentanil and propofol infusion in coronary artery bypass grafting, and case reports on bronchoalveolar lavage in pulmonary alveolar proteinosis and on mitral valve replacement in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus.

His fellowship in anesthesiology and pain and his membership in the American Society of Regional Anesthesia reflect a long-standing interest in this field.
