Dr. Tanrıkulu graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2008. After a compulsory public service appointment at Samandıra AÇSAP (2008–2009), she completed her Internal Medicine training at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital in 2013, followed by a compulsory public service appointment in Internal Medicine at Rize State Hospital (2013–2014). She completed her training in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2017 and then served in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at İstanbul Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital as a compulsory public service appointment. She joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2022. She is a member of the Turkish Endocrinology and Metabolism Association, the Endocrine Society and the European Society of Endocrinology. Her published work includes studies on glycemic control and hypoglycemia in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes, autoimmune diseases in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, DHEA-S levels in the differential diagnosis of Cushing’s syndrome, outcomes of patients with macroprolactinoma desiring pregnancy, and the granulation pattern of corticotroph tumors.
Clinical focus
Pituitary disorders form one of Dr. Tanrıkulu’s subspecialty areas. She evaluates and treats conditions such as acromegaly and Cushing syndrome, as well as other pituitary diseases, and she also sees patients with endocrine pancreatic tumors. Her second subspecialty area is thyroid disease, where she diagnoses and treats thyroid conditions and plans follow-up according to the findings in each case.
Metabolic conditions are another central part of her practice. She manages type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes, including the review of glycemic control and treatment adjustment, and she cares for patients with obesity and morbid obesity from an endocrine perspective. She also evaluates and treats osteoporosis.
