Dr. Serpil Pırmıt

Dr. Serpil Pırmıt is a dermatologist at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul, where she practices in the Dermatology unit. With more than 28 years in medicine, her work covers both medical dermatology, such as active acne and wart treatment, and cosmetic dermatology, including botulinum toxin injections, dermal filler applications, PRP treatment, fractional laser treatment and other anti-aging procedures. She is a member of the Europian Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, the Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Association, the Turkish Dermatology Association and the Cosmetic Dermatology Academy Association.

Dr. Pırmıt graduated from İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and completed her specialty training in Dermatology and Venereal Diseases at Bezmi Alem Valide Sultan Vakıf Gureba Training and Research Hospital in 2010. She then worked at Hakkari Devlet Hospital from 2010 to 2012 and at Arnavutköy Devlet Hospital from 2012 to 2013, followed by five years at Lepra, Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Hospital between 2014 and 2019. In 2019 she also practiced at Dr. Hande Ulusal Clinic before joining Acıbadem Healthcare Services in the same year.

Clinical focus

Dr. Pırmıt treats common skin conditions and performs a range of cosmetic dermatology procedures. Her medical dermatology work includes active acne treatment and wart treatment. In cosmetic dermatology she offers pigmentation treatment, fractional laser treatment, gold needle application, PRP treatment, Paris glow treatment, botulinum toxin injections, dermal filler applications and other anti-aging procedures. The choice of procedure depends on the skin type, the condition being addressed and the patient’s goals, and is discussed after a clinical examination of the skin. Expected results and possible side effects are reviewed with the patient before any application.

Alongside clinical practice, Dr. Pırmıt has contributed to peer-reviewed research in dermatology. Her co-authored publications include studies on HLA alleles and cytokine gene polymorphisms in psoriasis in the Turkish population, published in The Scientific World Journal and Turkderm, work on melanocytic nevus count and dermoscopic features in psoriatic patients receiving biological versus conventional drug therapy, an assessment of an automated dermoscopic analysis system in the differential diagnosis of melanocytic lesions, a study of allergens causing contact sensitization in textile sector workers, and case reports on hereditary epidermolysis bullosa, pustulotic arthro-osteitis and a CD4+/CD56+ hematodermic neoplasm.

How Dr. Pırmıt works with international patients

Dr. Pırmıt consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options.
