How Dr. Özateş works with international patients

Dr. Özateş consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as previous eye examination reports, optical measurements, retinal imaging, laboratory results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation with Dr. Özateş typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of existing imaging and any previous treatments, a clinical eye examination and a discussion of the possible options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation with Dr. Özateş before traveling or as part of follow-up, with the understanding that some findings can only be confirmed through an in-person examination.
