Yasemin Ballıca Özen, MD

Yasemin Ballıca Özen, MD is a gynecology and obstetrics specialist who sees patients at the Acibadem Bahçeşehir Outpatient Clinic in İstanbul. Clinical focus

In general gynecology, Dr. Özen evaluates and treats menstrual irregularities, ectopic pregnancy and HPV-related concerns. Her obstetric work includes pregnancy follow-up and delivery care, including epidural, cesarean and water birth applications. She also performs genital aesthetic procedures.

A further part of her practice concerns menopause, urogynecology and sexual health. She follows women through the menopausal transition and manages related symptoms. In urogynecology she assesses and treats pelvic organ prolapse and other pelvic floor conditions. She also offers sexual dysfunction treatment, including care for vaginismus. The choice of treatment in each of these areas depends on the individual patient’s history, examination findings and preferences, and is discussed with the patient before any decision is made.

How Dr. Özen works with international patients

Dr. Özen consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as ultrasound, MRI or CT reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before traveling, although a clinical examination and any further tests may still be needed in person before treatment is planned.
