Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Küçükçelebi, MD

Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Küçükçelebi, MD is a plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon working in the Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery unit at Acibadem Kozyatagi Hospital in İstanbul. His primary specialty is aesthetic plastic and reconstructive surgery, with a subspecialty interest in cosmetic dermatology. He has more than 48 years in medicine and has been part of Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2010.

Dr. Küçükçelebi graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1978. He then spent several years in the United States at Wayne State University, Medical School in Detroit, Michigan, first in the Department of Physiology (1979–1983) and subsequently in the Department of Surgery (1983–1985), and worked as a private practitioner EMC (Emergency Medicine Consultant) in Michigan from 1985 to 1988. He completed his specialty training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1991, followed by a position as Research and Clinical Fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Division of Plastic Surgery and Wound Healing Lab, Shriners Burns Institute, Galveston, Texas (1991–1993). Returning to Türkiye, he practiced at Konya Devlet Hospital (1993–1997) and Ankara Dışkapı SSK Hospital (1997–2007). He is a member of the Turkish Society of Plastic Surgery, the Aesthetic Surgery Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Inc (Corresponding and International Member), the Plastic Surgery Research Council (Senior Member), the Wound Healing Society, IPRAS The International Confederation for Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthet Surgery, and The Detroit Surgical Association (Associate Member). His published work includes experimental and clinical studies on subcutaneous pedicle rhomboid flaps and the treatment of postburn scar contractures in journals such as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Burns.

Clinical focus

Dr. Küçükçelebi’s clinical work covers both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. In breast surgery, he sees patients with breast conditions and performs breast augmentation and breast reduction. His facial procedures include rhinoplasty, surgical facelift and buccal fat removal.

On the reconstructive and skin side, he is involved in the surgical management of malignant melanoma and other skin tumors, and offers cosmetic dermatology within his practice. His background in wound healing research and reconstructive surgery, including work on scar contractures, informs this part of his practice. How Dr. Küçükçelebi works with international patients
