He completed his specialty training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1991, followed by a position as Research and Clinical Fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Division of Plastic Surgery and Wound Healing Lab, Shriners Burns Institute, Galveston, Texas (1991–1993). Returning to Türkiye, he practiced at Konya Devlet Hospital (1993–1997) and Ankara Dışkapı SSK Hospital (1997–2007). He is a member of the Turkish Society of Plastic Surgery, the Aesthetic Surgery Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Inc (Corresponding and International Member), the Plastic Surgery Research Council (Senior Member), the Wound Healing Society, IPRAS The International Confederation for Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthet Surgery, and The Detroit Surgical Association (Associate Member). His published work includes experimental and clinical studies on subcutaneous pedicle rhomboid flaps and the treatment of postburn scar contractures in journals such as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Burns.
